G R O W Y O U R W I N G S

Via missyjack  is a rec for a great picspam by myflower of the Lost cast over the years. 

I just recently started rewatching Lost after not watching for almost 2 years.   I'm all caught up.  I'm watching because of how much I loved Lost for the first two years and because it was the show that turned me on to all the possibilities of media on the internet.   AND certainly MOSTLY IMPORTANT---I found my way to SPN via Lost.  

I've loved so many characters on Lost, Sayid, Hurley, Sawyer, Locke, Jack, Sun & Jin, Desmond.   And I found myself getting surprisingly nostalgic and almost teary-eyed viewing this fantastic cast picspam.

Not my picspam---but I've looked at the My Bloody Valentine Jensen picspam thatmoondropz did here--about five times today. Man I can not WAIT until this DVD becomes available.

And I also cannot believe that I just said that--I mean REALLY? Me? Waiting for a SLASHER movie DVD?

???

Prior to seeing moondropz picspam I'd been (again) thinking earlier about how is it that I've become so ... invested ... in the careers of these two actors.

And yes I've said this before and yes here I go again...

I mean I've been a fan of genre TV/movies since I was a kid. I've loved many, many shows and characters and even actors. But never. Never. Have I become so invested in careers like I have with these two.

I mean I have list of actors whose work I will just about always go see....Harrison Ford, Will Smith, and others..but I'm just drawing a blank on names. However just because these actors have shows or movies it doesn't guarantee I'd go see it. Maybe I might wait a few weeks/months/years...or just never get around to it.

But I showed up for the very first showing of two SLASHER movies. Even though I'd sworn to myself in the 80s that I'd never go see stupid, bloody, nonsensical slasher movies. Pfftt! (Miss La-Di-Da here.... *sheepish grin*)

I never even hestitated even though I suspected I'd get sick to my stomach.

And unless these two turn into self-centered Hollywood a**holes (which I can't even imagine), I will likely be doing the same for whatever they do for the rest of their careers.

And I really can't imagine that I'll end up doing this for any other actors in the future. Even if I end up loving their work. I just can't see it.

I think this is a once-in-my-life occurrence.

Anyway....

I'm late early to the birthday wishes.  (So many folks posted mid-day yesterday--likely non-Americans--that I thought I was just under the wire with posting for Jared's birthday.  Turns out the birthday is July 19th!  So I was actually on the way early curve for my time zone.)

Was having fun re-learning CSS and playing with my LJ layout some more. Was able to fix all my CSS errors! So now I have that little LJ user symbol showing up when it is supposed to. Plus I fixed some minor formatting errors.

But back to the important thing..... wishing one of our favorite two actors a very happy birthday!

So the second thing I read this morning is THIS.  A Top 15 from ellel on Dean's Smiles. 

*AAAHH That hits the spot!"

I haven't even gotten 5 minutes into watching this and I saw something I never noticed before.

Just a moment though--first I just have to say *sigh* oh boys how I've missed you...

Trying to catch up on the weekend's Supernova appearance by Jared.

I love that "Jared Padaleki, star of TV series Supernatural, caused the most excitement at the expo on Saturday" according to news.au.com. According to one fan quoted in the article:

“He was so nice! He reached across and shook my hand and smiled. He was very talkative, exactly how I expected him to be. He’s gorgeous,”

Well naturally he was! *sigh* Hey! Uhuru --- Nichelle Nichols was there! Someday I'd like to see a Star Trek convention with Shatner, Nimoy and others. But right now SPN has to come first! (and yes I know Shatner and Nimoy aren't getting any younger.)

bellanut posted a great S3 summary picspam to celebrate tonight's episode.  I just finished it.  It's so great!  I felt the heartstrings in so many areas.

Work?  Don't ask.  I'm getting more convinced that the "time of life" may have something to do with this.  Cuz work?  It really ain't the different from normal.  Just my tolerance/reactions to it.

Got my vodka lined up for 9pm tonight, though.  I'm so conflicted, anxious, nervous, fearful, happy (cuz a new SPN!), sad (cuz the last SPN for quite a while), and more.  Part of me is so wound up that I'm afraid the episode can't possibly "live up" to my emotional expectations--so now I also add "worrying about not likely the episode because it disappoints" - to my list.  *headdesk*
