Day 1 :: Your Favorite Song

Huh--not many people seem to be limiting themselves to 1 song... so I'll join that list. I've lots of "favorite" songs, but I just took a gander at the playcounts on my iTunes and I picked out these:

Guitar Etude #3 by Dan Fogelberg. I've been listening to this song since 1988. This YouTube link does not do it justice, but I didn't have an unprotected version to share. ETA: Here's a link to a slightly better sounding version of this.

Moonlight Serenade by Glenn Miller. This song always causes me to pause and sigh in contentment.

And a more recent new favorite - Allegro by Bear McCreary from the Battlestar Galactica S2 soundtrack. I LOVE this piece.

Huh, all three of those are instrumental pieces.

Found via nilchance, a book meme - Fifteen books you've read that will always stick with you. First fifteen you can recall in no more than 15 minutes.

I did a few more than 15. I could not whittle the list down. Plus this was very interesting as I thought to go check my buying history on Amazon. It goes back to 1999! It was really interesting to see the phases of interests I went through. Some very interesting, some very embarrassing!

ETA: Guys? Based on this list of books there's NO reason in the world why I would be in love with SHOW, right? *sarcasm*   I'm still surprising myself by all this recall of my early interests in life.  How the heck did I lose track of all that? 

I wasn't sure what I was going to be able to post today since I was getting a little tired and crazy from all the snow. 

But then I remembered one thing that I can always count on to cheer me up...

Fanvids.

I love Fanvids.  For me it's the perfect combination of Graphics, Music, and my favorite shows.  I'm constantly blown away by the talent of fans who put these together.

Here you can find some of my favorite SPN fanvids that I've rec'd in the past.  I have over 300 of these on my harddrive.  Some of which you can't find online any more.   I was feeling a little crazy this afternoon and immediately cheered myself up by watching several of these.  Plus here you can find an SPN 101 entry I wrote up that used fanvids as introductions to the various aspects of the show.

Tagged by mrsr58, rules are that for 8 days you have to post something that made you happy that day. Tag 8 people to do the same. 

Day 1--what made me happy today:  Photoshop!!!! (In case you didn't already notice my 22,342 other posts today.)  While the darn thing is not intuitively easy to learn--once you get the hang of it--the THINGS you can DO!  And I found pre-recorded actions today!!!!  I can lose hours and hours and hours and hours using this program.

This meme came to me via fickleone (her list is here) and mrsr58 (which is here).  And wow it sure takes a long time to put together.  I haven't even looked at theirs yet because I didn't want to be influenced.  Of course, 1 minute after I post this and/or look at theirs I'll think of 3-5 more that I should have included.

I had trouble with this meme.  What makes a man sexy to me is not just his looks.  Yes, sometimes I’m shallow enough that looks is enough.  But if I know something about the individual...for example, that he’s a bit of a idiot or an egotist or something, then despite his looks, he will not be sexy to me.  Also a man who may not be truly sexy in a purely visual way, may be very sexy to me because of his personality or some other aspect. 

I tend to like darker men.  Not so much the blonds, which is why you wouldn’t see Brad Pitt here.  Yes Brad Pitt is drop dead gorgeous in a purely physical sense.  And he may also be a great human being (don’t really know)--but for some reason, although I can “admire” his body (grin), he just doesn’t do it for me. 

However sometimes I break that rule.  Such as with Robert Redford.  Definitely blond.  But Redford has something on top of being physically gorgeous when he was younger.

I’ll admit that sometimes the reason why I find an actor sexy is not so much because of the actor himself--it may sometimes really be the character(s) he plays.  I may find the actor himself to be just okay.

And as for the ranking of these men.  Other than the top 4-5, I could probably reorder these multiple ways and still be satisfied with the results.
