More on Star Trek
Jul. 3rd, 2009 02:25 pmBefore I found the SPN fandom, my original fandom was Star Trek. Over the past 10ish years, since I first found the InterWebs, I'd been collecting TOS and TNG vids and images on my computer.
This was before LJ. If I'd been on LJ back then, I'd have put them in my journal for reference, etc.
I haven't googled ST for quite awhile (been too busy with SPN dontchaknow.) While looking for something to send my friend I mentioned in my past post, I started re-finding many of the images and vids I'd collected over the years. I can remember how HARD it was to find these vids in years past--and there they are--on YouTube in seconds.
Posting some here for my reference.
Star Trek meets Monty Python (Gen, Humor, TOS)
Nine Inch Nails (NC-17, Kirk/Spock, Warning for Slashey, and implied NonCon and NSFW lyrics). Normally semi-violent fanvids aren't really my thing. But this vid is SO well done. One of the best out there from old-school ST fanvids. Those who follow ST fanvids will likely already know about this vid.
Star Trek 40th Anniversary Tribute (Gen). When this video first came out, I teared up watching it. I mean what other "show" has such a wealth of history and characters in it. And all of that started from Roddenberry back in 1966! This vid does a great job of chronicling the whole Star Trek universe.
Jim Carrey paradies Kirk In Living Color (Gen, Humor). I remember when this first aired on TV. Hilarious.
Picard and Q get Footloose. (Picard/Q, suggestive, humor). This was the first fanvid I ever found. I found it through the first slash I ever found--which was Picard/Q.
Shatner Raps. Technically not ST. It's a clip from the movie "Free Enterprise" about geeks and fandoms and Star Trek. Shatner raps in this scene. And I think he's pretty good!
When I'm 64 (Kirk & Spock, Gen - could be interpreted as Kirk/Spock I guess.)
Desert Rose (Kirk/Spock, NC-17-I *think* from memory, Warnings: NSFW images). Another one of my favorites. I ended up buying this song and played it so many times the year I found this fanvid. There's no embedding on this vid. You can find it here.
All of my saved ST fanvids are archived off on an external drive that I don't have ready access to right now. I know there are about 3-5 other classic ST fanvids that I can't recall the names/songs for right now. I did a bit of scan through YouTube and didn't see them out there. If I ever find them, I'll add them.
ETA: Yay! Just found another!
Razzle Dazzle! (Gen) One of my favorite Jim Kirk fanvids
