Amazing voice.

Actually for anyone.  But I'm sad when it seems like there's a divide in fandom about characters and story arcs.   I miss the days of mutual and uniform squee.

meanwhile...  I've been sick with a bad cold bug that's been going around work.  Been working from home for the past 3 days.  Despite the fact that I'm naturally a bit of a hermit, I don't do well when I'm hermitted behind closed doors for any length of time.   My inner critic starts to come out and tries to take control.   I actually need peoples voices other than my own and my immediate families.  Who knew.

I'm going into work for a meeting in the morning.  Then I'm coming back home to sleep.   Today was hard.  Having to lead multiple large meetings via phone while sick.   Ugh.

Random observation/question:  What the heck is this "powered by last.fm" on the bottom of the LJ posting window?  Not that it matters, but it just seems strange.

Love how these twins look at each other with grins on their faces.   (and yes I have to admit for some reason I thought of our boys.)

Hubby walks into house from work.   First thing out of his mouth:

Random question from hubby:  Who invented the warp drive?

Me:  Huh?  *trying to figure out why I'm getting a Star Trek question out of the blue*

Hubby:  Who invented the warp drive?

Me:   Um.... Zephram Cochran.

Hubby:   You sure?

Me:  Pretty sure.  *googles*  Yup.  Why?

Hubby:   My boss asked me today.

Me:  Huh?   *then decides I'm too sick to really care why his boss would randomly ask a Star Trek question*

Hubby:  You're awesome.  You always know these things.

Me:  *whatever*

I was hungry for lunch but there was no open-and-eat foodstuffs in the house.  In the past I'd order pizza or go out for take-out Chinese.

I love to make meals, but only when I'm "in the mood."  Not because I'm hungry and need something to eat.

But we're trying a new household budget (and doing real good at it too.)  So I decided to try to pull something quick together.

I had left over chicken breasts from dinner the other night.  Cut them up.  Cooked a handful of spiral pasta for 8 min.  Cut up part of a carrot and some green onions.  Mixed olive oil and balsamic vinegar for a dressing (just shaken in a small tuperware container.)  Mixed everything in a bowl.  Added dried thyme, a little fresh lemon juce, and some craisins (which I'm addicted to right now btw) and some pine nuts.  (ETA:  Oh!  Forgot that I added some shredded parmesan cheese too!)

Took less than 10 minutes.  Ended up with enough for two meals.  Tastes pretty good.  Plus I didn't spent $20 for lunch!

*pats self on back*
