Too busy to re-type/re-summarize, so I'm just copying what I posted on FB:

SO DAMN BUSY. *deep breath* Here's a cute fan-folksong/vid about Game of Thrones. Found it linked somewhere [missyjack] last night and it gave me a nice moment of "oh hell yeah" with chuckles.

Stayed with Mom again last night. She is doing SO much better, but will still need someone with her for a while longer (not yet sure how long) so we are all still doing shifts to have 24x7 coverage.

My project work life is abundantly overflowing (see the positive spin on that, huh?) Both kids have now GRADUATED (Yay Tim and Emily!) All celebratory graduation events are done. We have another birthday tomorrow (yay, Emily) and Emily has also finished her last board exam today (again, YAY, Emily!)

I have a 3-day class starting Monday. Am working some over the weekend otherwise my work life will be overly chaotic when I return next Thursday.

I'm sure I'm forgetting something. Honestly I am LIVING by my calendar and taking things a moment at a time. Waiting for July.

So they are not having the (boring) dessert/cocktail (no-host) party at Vegas Con,....

(I was wrong - looked at Silver, not Gold - they are still having the free-to-Gold-ticket-holders Saturday night Cocktail party.    So I guess this Sunday night party is for anyone who felt like they missed out on the "Gold" event?   *Pssst* you didn't miss much.)

...but are charging $99 for a one-drink Cocktail Party on the last night of the con?  And it sounds like it's the same format as the dessert/no-host cocktail parties of yore.   Which means waiting at tables for xxx hrs while 4 guests make their rounds and spend a minute at your table?   

Sorry, normally I'm not negative about any Creation event - but I'd stopped going to these things back when they were free because it was boring and a waste of my time.  I'm not going to spend $99 for the privilege either.  

(And yeah, I'm not in the best of moods, sorry.  But even if I was in a great mood, I still would not be spending $99 for this.  Heh, just watch something happen to either make this event awesome and/or trigger me to go and watch me eat crow or something.  ;o)   ) 

BTW, I'm really pretty excited about Vegas Con and am looking forward to the event overall.  I'm very interested and optimistic about the "premier" SPN con concept.   


An additional btw, my previous post about GoT community recs had nothing to do with this post.  I just am falling more in love with GoT.  Spent a lot of time yesterday reading up on a GoT Wiki to try to finally understand all the nuanced inter-relationships on that show.   

I am enjoying reading all the news about SPN S8 and seeing / hearing the boys at the Upfronts in NYC.   (And wow, Jensen, *nice* suit (tie).  And Jared, gorgeous as usual (although perhaps a *tiny* hair trimming might be in order?) )
