I'd forgotten about this.  And *YIKES* how am I supposed to choose these.  That's probably why i didn't just do this when I first saw it.  I'll have to keep this posted and edit it over the next few days I guess.

The magazine is having an awards contest. There are 20 categories, and they want you to fill out all of them and then e-mail your answers to supernaturalmag@titanemail.com. The deadline for all entries is April 30, 2008.

Here are the categories:

1. Best Season One Episode:  Wow.  My current list of candidates:

Skin:  Because it was the first episode that really started to get me hooked (although I didn't realize it at the time.)  And I loved Jensen playing Dean and shapeshifter!Dean.

Home:  Because it was the first episode where the overall story arc became apparent.  I realized there was something *more* to this show.  Because of the scene at the gas station where Dean calls John asking for help and so obviously unsure and lost about what to do.

Asylum:  Because I just *loved* the ghosts in this.  And we saw a bit of Sam's underlying anger.

Faith:  The first time we saw Sam willing to do anything to save/help Dean.  And we begin to see more of Dean's self-sacrifice for his family and for others.  Dean is *more* than just a smart-ass hunter out to kill things.

Nightmare:  Because it introduced the special children and the fact that Sam was connected to them.

Something Wicked:   First time we see the weechesters!  More of the brotherly love and devotion.  Dean telling Michael that he'd do *anything* for his brother.
    Hmmm... I might add:

Dead in the Water:  Because it's the first time we see how Dean is with children.

2. Best Season Two Episode:  Current list of candidates:

WIaWSNB:  Right now this episode is tied with Mystery Spot for my all-time favorite episode.  I guess that means I should choose it as my favorite S2 episode.  But there's a Best Overall Episode category.  So maybe I'll cheat a bit.  And why WIaWSNB?  Do I need to even say this?  Dean's moments with his mother (I could mention each and every one and get teary eyed doing it).  Dean's "talk" with his father in the graveyard asking why they have to be the heroes (again with the teary-eyes).  Dean's realization that he's not close to Sammy in this world. Dean's realization that his staying put means that all the people he and his family saved, will have died.  Dean's choosing to go back despite his "family's" attempts to convince him to stay.  And as an added bonus--Sammy in *that* suit.

IMToD:  I *love* this episode.  John's sacrifice.  Sam's support of Dean.  Dean's conversation with Tessa the Reaper.  Fred Leyne's first appearance as YED.  And he's *terrific* as YED!

Nightshifter:  Just the perfect standalone episode.  One of the ones I choose when trying to convince people to watch.  Plus--the Renegade song at the end.  PLUS Henriksen.  Plus the Mandroid!  Plus Ronald Reznik!

BUaBS:  Our first glimpse of Jared doing evil!Sam (even if it really was demon!Meg).  Jared just so totally rocked this episode.  I can remember calling

during one of the commercial breaks going O. M. G!!!!

Tall Tales:  The Trickster!  And the funnies!  And bitchface!Sam: "Dean, *what* do you think you're doing?!!".  And purple nurples!  And slow dancing with an alien to Lady in Red.  And more Bobby!

AHBL p1 & p2:  Part 1 was so perfectly done and then, that ending!  Jensen just knocked it out of the park.  Part 2?  Again with the Jensen knocking out of the park during the first half.  Then the final demise of YED (and that shot of Dean firing the bullet).
        (Ugh, how to choose!)

3. Best Season Three Episode:  Current candidates:

Mystery Spot:  This one is no. 1 at the moment.  Just like WIaWSNB is my favorite Dean episode.  Mystery Spot is that for Sam for me.  There is just so much perfectness in this episode.  It's the perfect combination of everything that is SPN.  Funny brother moments such as the absolutely perfect synchronized talking.  The Trickster is back!  The amazing Jared with his life without Dean second half.  I've probably seen this episode more times than any of the others.

A Very Supernatural Christmas:  The amulet!  Weechesters!  Dean taking care of Sammy!  The pagan gods from Leave it to Beaver!

Jus in Bello:  Mostly because of Henricksen.

Dream a Little Dream of Me:  Because of Dean's moment with demon!Dean.  And also learning more about Bobby.

Fresh Blood:  Love all the Gordon episodes.  But this is my favorite.

4. Best Overall Episode:  TBD

5. Best Dean Moment:  TBD

6. Best Sam Moment:  TBD

7. Best Brother Moment:  TBD

8. Best Dean One-Liner:  TBD

9. Best Sam One-Liner:  TBD

10. Best Director:  Kim Manners (at least this one is easy.  Oh. Wait a minute.  Should I say Kripke for WIaWSNB?  Nah, for now I think Kim.)

11. Best Writer:  Yikes, I'm have a bad fangirl moment.  Who are all the writers?  I'll have to go off and research a bit.  Of course I know Sera and Ben Edlund.  Is Bob Singer also a writer?  Of course Kripke.  Just a very quick look at IMDB and it sure looks like Kripke has written a good deal of the episodes.

12. Best Guest Star: Male:  Current candidates:
          Fred Leyne as YED
          Richard Speight as the Trickster
          Chris Gauthier as Ronald Reznick
Chad as Ash (does he count since he was somewhat recurring?)
          Sterling Brown as Gordon
          Charles Whitfield as Henricksen
JDM as John (kinda feels like he's a regular)

13. Best Guest Star: Female:
Sam Ferris as Ellen (if Ash counts, Sam certainly counts)
Linda Blair as Det. Diana Ballard
          Nicki Aycox as Meg
          Loretta Devine as Missouri
          Samantha Smith as Mary
          Sure I'm forgetting someone

14. Best Winchester Ally:  Bobby Singer--another easy one.

15. Best Demon/Monster/Ghost:  TBD

16. Best Use Of A Song:  Current candidates:
Renegade in Nightshifter (likely the winner for me)
Don't Fear the Reaper in Faith
Carry on My Wayward Son in two(?) of the "Then" summaries (which were they btw?)

17. Scariest Moment:  TBD

18. Funniest Moment:  Wow.  I'm gonna have to think on this one.  I'm sure it will be a Dean moment--but there are *so* many of those.

19. Most Shocking Moment:  Current thinking?  The truck hitting the Impala in Devil's Trap at the end of S1.  *Totally* caught me by surprise.

20. Most Romantic Moment:  TBD

I'll come back and update more as I have time and think of things.
