Random thought of the day with pic-a-day

You know what I like about LJ? Other than getting my daily (hourly?, by-the-minute?, by-the second?) SPN fixes?

When I was a kid I always liked the idea of Pen Pals. Having people you wrote to all over the world. Learning a little about them and their culture. But there was always the problem of how to find pen pals and then there's the whole long process of writing a letter, mailing it and waiting days/weeks for a reply.

I just realized that's kinda what LJ is like. It's like having pen pals. But without having to go look for them. Without having to wait weeks for responses. And, the cherry on top is that you can target your LJ f-list to people with similar obsessions interests pretty easily.

So that sent me to flickr to search for Pen Pal. I actually found hits!

I love flickr. I'm an image whore. The right image can just make me vibrate. Through my pen pal search I found the artist colorfulexpressions. You really should go check her out here . I especially loved her LETTERING WORDS set found here.

Mr. GYW and I thought it was going to be a very quiet 4th for us.  Our daughter was going to go to a 4th party with her boyfriend. 

Our neighborhood is on a dead-end and every year the families that are here all get together out in front of our house (at the dead-end) and we all set off fireworks together.  A lot of times fickleone and her family (my brother's family) would join us and sometimes my mother as well.

Well fickleone's on the way to spend the 4th with her sister and my mother is recovering from some surgery and Em and Alex weren't going to be here. 

But now we have Em, Alex and Tim.  Should be fun.

Happy 4th everyone--I'm drunk

I very rarely get drunk.  Watching fireworks like this is very weird.  Typing is very weird.  I usually can't get very drunk cuz my body just goes to sleep.  But tonight it didn't.  Everything feels very--weird.  My fingers are numb.

O, and before I got drunk

I watched two SPN S2 shows.  Let me think.  What the heck were they.... O yeah....   Bloodlust and Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things (that last one was hard to type).  I hadn't seen CSPwDT for a long time.  I loved rewatching it.  Bloodlust I've watched several times--still good though.

Man my vision is blurred.

I may just delete this in the morning.
