Vancon 2012 :: Jensen
Feb. 11th, 2013 12:02 pmMy question of yesterday regarding applying a vellum texture (I was brain dead at the time I think), started me playing with creating such a thing. I randomly pulled up one of my HQ Jensen photos and started playing. And playing. And playing.
Here is the result (click twice for more HQ):

Here are some Jensen photos I took at the J2 Breakfast at Burcon 2012 - re-edited as the originals were either off color or too dark, or I just felt like playing with them. I believe that most of these have been published before.
To see more Burcon photos, go here.

above :: I believe this shot is when Jensen spotted that Jared had arrived at the breakfast. Jared was late due to a car mix up and Jensen was winging it without his wingman (heh) until Jared showed up.

Today I discovered these additional Jensen photos that I took at the J2 Breakfast at Burcon 2012. I'm 90% convinced I haven't posted most, if not all of these previously. I've been developing a workflow process for developing photos and based on my process, these photos likely were not included previously in any postings (but there might be some exceptions.) These were likely excluded due to lack of focus, color balance (yikes! on some of these, which I still couldn't really fix), and/or I had others that were similar but better, or just too many photos in general.
In any case, these have been re-editted and gave me about an hour of pleasure today (along with another set I will be posting in a few moments. The next set are definitely photos I think I've published before, but re-editted for better quality.)
For other photos from Burcon see here.

via Tumblr: Jensen
Dec. 1st, 2012 12:32 pmOne of the allures of Tumblr I think is that you appear to get a lot more response to posts. Tumblr enables a quick "like" and reblog function which can get your posts spreading around a lot via people you don't know. As I've been playing more in Tumblr and thinking about the LJ vs. Tumblr comparison, I've begun to think that for those of us who are not fandom's writers, but it's visual artists, Tumblr may offer a bit more feedback satisfaction. And then there's the fact that for whatever reasons, Tumblr is so much more active for SPN than LJ seems to be these days. Even if the activity might be a bit OTT or youngish or whatever or Cas vs. Sam focused - at least people are reacting and talking - as opposed to the silence that seems to have descended over LJ.
Don't get me wrong, I still see LJ as my fandom homebase. My real community. I'm just venturing out further and exploring and bringing back. :)
Tumblr is not the place for in depth conversations or getting to know-you's. I am seeing that relationships form there and perhaps it's just a matter of getting used to the different behavior of Tumblr, but it still does seem to me to as good as LJ for forming a more "connected" community.
But there is something to be said for finding two of my photos on Tumblr with more likes/reblogs than I've ever seen on LJ.
I did not go back to verify this, but I'm pretty sure this photo below is an enhanced version of the one I uploaded. It appears to have been "Tumblrized" with increased saturation and color filters.

This last one is particularly satisfying as it has nothing to do with SPN, but yet got 98 likes/reblogs.

Jensen - Eyelashes - Seriously?
Oct. 19th, 2012 10:27 pmThis is a screen cap of a close up from one of my photos from Vancon 2012. I'm not sure this will work as I just screen capped and uploaded that cap to the LJ scrapbook. Hopefully if you click on this image (perhaps twice? I don't know I've not used LJ scrapbook much) you will see a close up view of those unreal eyelashes. I am weirdly fascinated with Jensen's left eye in this photo. The eyelashes, the light reflections in his eye.
I know. Strange. Whatever. *stares*

Edit: Another eyelash study below (lol). Less focus. Whatever. Click twice to enlarge.

Okay, now I'm just getting silly.

I already posted this photo here, but I really love his eyes in this so I'm posting a HQ version. Again taken with no flash and high-ish ISO, so will be a bit grainy at high resolution, but with his eyes - I don't even care. ;P
Photos of Jared's birthday swag auction from the J2 Panel.
I had to put these in a post by themselves. :) While I didn't link to HQ versions - you can click a couple of times to see larger ones. J2 laughing in sync deserve largeness. :)
Update: I swear this may be my favorite series of photos from the J2 panel. Love, love, LOVE seeing the Js crack up in sync together and then Jensen crack up so much and then look over at Jared. :)
Update 2: This is why I kept switching back from low ISO with flash and high ISO without. The first settings get you the crisp gorgeous sharp photos, but those settings also slow down the camera just enough waiting for flash recharge (even if it's only 1-2 seconds) that you cannot get fast moving action series like this. If I had been on the first settings at this moment I *might* have gotten one of these shots if I was lucky. But with the 2nd, non-flash settings I was able to get this whole series that while slightly grainy at high resolution - so worth it. :)
Note: Photos can be used for fandom purposes. Watermark is to prevent commercial use.

above :: while this is ISO 3200 so will be a bit grainy at HQ view - his eyelashes, man, they needed an expanded view. Click once on photo above, then again.

above :: Needed to HQ this one. While it's ISO 3200, hence a bit grainy, and it's also not totally in focus - I swear his FACE!
