Something Stupid
Jul. 2nd, 2008 01:57 pmI love Frank Sinatra. I love crooner songs from the 40s & 50s. I love the cultural time-slot of the 50s. I love Robbie Williams. I loved Nicole Kidman in Moulin Rouge.
So I just found this music video rec'd on my flist. It is so perfect. It marries all of the above.
I love the song Something Stupid as sung by Frank Sinatra and Nancy Sinatra. This is music video of Robbie Williams and Nicole Kidman singing the same song. It builds in a campy 50s motif along with a little sexual S&M.
Here are some screen caps to wet your appetite. The quality is not good as they were taken off a low-quality YouTube download.

And the sexual chemistry
And here's the music video:
I first saw Robbie in the movie De-Lovely. I also first saw John Barrowman and Diana Krall in that movie. I went out and bought just about everything sung by Diana Krall and most of Robbie's (although Robbie's default style is definitely different that what he did in De-Lovey and here in this vid--I still love his work.)
