Morning of 2nd Vegas day.   Relatively early night last - got to sleep around midnight.

Quick important stuff summary: Had dinner with our friends.   Stood in line for about 3 hours to register.  Visited with all the fans and friends from all over the world.  So great to see everyone again.   We saw and visited briefly with Lynn (of Fangasm), Becky (of Winchester Bro), Amy (sweetondean/Winchester Family Business), Kat (of Kat Melanson Art)  Of course visited a lot with our core group - mrsr58, jensenite, jo_anne8, candygramme.   And many others, but my brain is not yet fully online.

Saw Richard, Rob & his band.    Gave Richard his karaoke brochure and asked about perhaps getting on stage tonight to take a photo or two.   We'll see, he's going to be very busy.   He said to connect with him tomorrow as well as work my way up to the front of the stage to catch his attention.  Yeah right lol - along with 2,000+ other screaming people.  =D    No worries.  I can still get the shots I need from the floor.  It was almost more the 2 glasses of wine with dinner last night that gave me the gumption to ask.

I took an iphone video of the registration line but am having trouble getting it off my phone and uploading it anywhere from my phone.  So that will have to come after I return home I think.

Today is a late start (which is fantastic, in fact most days start off later than past cons-love that.)   We are relaxing in our room now.   We'll go to breakfast shortly.  Then 1pm the Elastic Waste Band (aka Rob's band, lol) kicks off the con.  Followed by Richard as his first official MC gig (even though he's been kinda doing it for years now.)

Then 1:30 will be Rob & Matt's panel.  3:25 Chad & Gabe panel.  4:30 is James Patrick Stuart.   Followed by autographs.  Then 9pm is the Karaoke Party.   Photo ops interspersed through out of course.  I'm only doing a photo op with James Patrick Stuart today.

Looking forward to today.

Longer detail (and not so important stuff):
.
My morning yesterday was a bit of an odyssey.   Our flight didn't leave until 1pm.  Fickleone and I were to be individually dropped off by family members at airport around 9am since all our family members had to be at work that day.   But at 6:30 am I got a wake up call from my husband who needed me to drive something all the way across town right at that moment.  Something that was critical for his work.   So I had to get out of bed, no shower, just teeth brushing.  No coffee, no breakfast.  Drive 60 mins across town - luckily against rush hour traffic.  Drop off the time to him.   Then drive back home - which was WITH rush hour traffic so took 1.5 hours - into the direct rising sun and I had no sunglasses.   Sheesh.   Finally got coffee during the drive.   But it really frazzled my morning.  Didn't eat until at the airport around 10am.   And I admit to having 2 glasses of wine with my meal, to get me back in the convention mood.  At that point I didn't frigging care what time of day it was.  lol.

The flight was fun.  The mood on a flight to Vegas is a lot different than the mood on most other flights.   Even if someone is traveling there for a business convention - it's still VEGAS.    Everyone was laughing and talking with each other (and drinking).   There was an elderly gentleman sitting next to us who was traveling down with his wife to go to Nascar, which is also this weekend.  It is their 4th year going and he was describing the venue, their seats, the events; including visiting with the drivers.  It was so much like us talking about our conventions (which we did as well.)  :)

We met up with Kat, that fantastic graphite pencil artist who does all the great drawings of the SPN cast.  We learned we were both arriving at the Vegas airport at the same time, so arranged to meet up there to share a cab to the hotel.  Turns out there are more than one terminal at Vegas which are far apart.  She landed 10ish minutes before us in a different terminal.  If it had been me, I would have texted I was grabbing a cab by myself and see you there.  But no, even with all her luggage (for her drawings), she grabbed a shuttle over to our terminal.  Where we met, grabbed a cab and got to the hotel to check in.

The hotel is a typical casino hotel.  I'm one of the few adults in the world who does NOT appreciate casinos.   I'm less than thrilled about being in Vegas, but am trying to keep an open mind about it.  Which sometimes works, sometimes not.   The main lobby area is busy and noise and dark with bright flashing lights and filled with cigarette smoke.

The convention hall area is nice.  But it is a long walk from the hotel.  I admit I'm a bit worried about that since I have arthritis.  But that's what ibuprofen (and other stuff) is for.   Alcohol won't make it bad either.  ;P

On the good side, we saw some of our friends in the check in line.   Got to our room.  Which is very nice and very big.   Has a lovely view of the utility plant for the hotel and the hotel's garbage processing dock - lol.   But we won't be in the room much and it is the biggest room I've ever seen in a hotel.   Lots of comfortable seating.   They charge for EVERYTHING (not kidding), but the room rate isn't bad.

I doubt I'll have the time or energy to do daily reports this detailed, but if I can / as I can, I may post short reports.   And of course photos as I can - but most photos will be posted when I return home.
