growyourwingsI decided to rewatch the pilot. I'm at the part where Sam and Dean find their father's motel room. What I've always paid attention to in the past is all the supernatural lore pasted all over the walls.
But just now I noticed Sam noting that John was worried ... he had spread salt and cat's eyeshells (wtf is that?) ... Sam said he was worried about keeping something out.
So....
Just before John went missing he left Dean a voicemail saying something was starting to happen and that they were all in danger. I don't think John would have spread salt for Constance. Constance only haunted/attack out on Centennial Hwy. John knew that. So he was trying to keep something else out.
What? YED? Another demon? something else? Something happened in that motel that sent John underground and away from his boys until he "learned the truth." I wonder if we will ever learn what happened to John in the Pilot to make him disappear?
