I took some photos of the inside of the hotel and main convention room and a lot more of the SW Portland area.

(click any of these to enlarge)

above:: the ceiling of the main lobby of the Governor Hotel. We spent a lot of time in this lobby today. Standing in line to register and then to purchase photo-ops and autos.

above:: one of the Leverage posters in the registration area. I always forget to take photos of these things at the SPN cons.

above: proof that "we were there". btw, fickleone, I don't think you actually fully pressed the shutter button on the photo of me. We'll have to try again tomorrow.

above: the view of the Governor Hotel from the parking garage we parked in.

above: Now comes the random shots of the area surrounding the hotel. Most of these have nothing to do with location filming. Just photos I liked of SW Portland.

above:: another ceiling in The Governor. It's either in the elevator lobby outside the Heritage Ballroom (the main conference hall) or it's in the Dealer's Room.

above:: same ceiling.

above: I'm pretty sure this is the elevator lobby on the 4th floor outside the main conference room.

above:: same ceiling.

above:: same ceiling.

above: The Heritage Ballroom aka the main conference room. A Leverage trivia contest is going on. Fickleone and I are seated almost at the back row in the general admission area. I'm using only a 50mm lens here. Notice the five very nice leather chairs on stage. We figure that's where the guests will sit. Very comfortable for them of course, but when the room is filled with people, It will be very hard to get clear shots since the guests will be seated so low. Although there is a screen--so perhaps they will project what the are filming. Some of the main panels are going to be filmed and streamed live online.

above:: they had film crews around filming con goers. I don't know who is being interviewed here. This is off to the side in the Heritage Room while the trivia contest is going on.

above:: the prerequisite banners are across the sides of the conference hall.

above:: and the projected "Leverage" up in one corner of the ceiling of the main room.

above: a random building in the area.

above:: Morgan's Alley, which I've always loved the look of. This was a location marked on the filming map. Fickleone, you have my map so I can't look up which episode this was. We weren't sure if where they filmed was at Morgan's Alley or the jewelry store right next door. But I love Morgan's Alley, so this is the photo I'm posting. At least for now.

above: Portland has a lot of art/statues throughout the downtown area. This is a weird angle shot of one of them.

above:: a "Benson Bubbler" drinking fountain. These are all over the downtown streets. They are so ubiquitous that I didn't even see it in front of me and fickleone had to point it out to me. There's a story behind what they are named and how they came to be. They were put up in 1912.

above:: a random close-up of some details of a building.

above:: another ubiquitious Portland detail--these lampposts are all over the downtown area.

above:: random buildings. I have a lot of good shots of the surrounding area. Just didn't feel like processing/uploading ore.

above:: more randomness

above:: a detail of a sidewalk in the area. This is likely over the Portland Shanghai Tunnels where from 1850 to the early 1900s laborers were kidnapped and sold as slaves and later during prohibtion in the 1920s, drinking went underground in these tunnels. I've lived in the Portland area for 40 years and never taken the Portland Underground tour.
