I am SO out of touch...

I had to learn through my flist about Apple's iPad announcement today. I mean I knew that it was coming. I'd heard about it about 4 weeks ago and I had told myself to make to listen in on the 27th--but that seemed so FAR in the future that I ... um .. forgot.

Bad Apple fangirl. Bad.

Now I have to go look and I almost don't want to because I'd heard enough insider speculation that I know if it lives up to it I will WANT one NOW and I'll get all excited. And I'm too tired to get all excited.

And if it doesn't live up to the speculation, I'll just be depressed. And I'm too tired to be depressed.

dammit.

EDIT: Just after I posted this, I open my non-LJ email inbasket to find...an Apple anouncement about this. It just arrived. Kinda late since I assume their announcement was around 10ish this morning because Apple's "announcement events" are usually morning affairs. Maybe this one was different. Still not looking--too tired...

Oh sh*t...it has a photo of the iPad (name???!!! wtf???) in the email. dammit. It looks good. dammit. Like what the speculation was about. dammit. *eyes my credit card*

Edit 2: Dammit. I looked. Yup. Want one. Dammit. It looks just like all the talk over the last several weeks. Dammit.

Edit 3: Okay..whew! Release date in April. Good. I can plan. *goes back to being tired and unplugged*
