I'm bored...
Dec. 1st, 2008 04:12 pmThis does not bode well.
My goal was to turn over my project to the new PM on 12/1 and to take a background role (read: "do nothing) for my final month of December. I wasn't sure I was going to achieve that goal because I was a little concerned the new PM was not coming up to speed fast enough.
Well today was 12/1 and he's doing great! Which means other than a few odds and ends this week--I'm not going to have a heck of a lot to do through December except close down stuff and finish my prep-work for job search when I come off of self-imposed hiatus in April.
I was off work all last week due to both planned vacation for Thanksgiving and a bad head cold. So I'm very well rested.
I just came home from work, found my son asleep on the couch and out cold (not a lot of sleep last night) so I cancelled his drum lesson for tonight. I did the dishes and picked up the main room. I could make the bed, but ... ahem....hubby's due home soon and it seems kinda redundant.... ahem.
I've caught up on my flist and fic reading mostly. Or I've OD'd on them.
I'm almost done planning our SPN party for this Saturday.
I made fresh bread yesterday, so I can't do that.
Em and I did some preliminary Christmas present lists yesterday, and I can't do more until hubby and I pow-wow about budget, etc.
No one's going to be home (or conscious) for dinner--so that's not something to do.
I guess I could scrub the tub or sweep the floor...but .... nah.
So I'm bored. And I'm not even officially laid off yet. This does not bode well for my sanity on my three-month hiatus. I do plan on finally dealing with the spare room upstairs--but that's something for January--not now.
I guess I could continue my study of the Tarot cards. Yes, isn't that a different passtime for me? I'm trying to decide the best method--memorization? Using the cards themselves as flash cards and quizzing myself on card name meaning, etc? With 78 cards to learn--it seems daunting. And I haven't even begun to study spreads yet. Or do I just dive in and play? Or both?
I did sign up for a drawing class that starts in January--I have to send off the deposit tomorrow--can't forget that. I could draw right now--but I'm not sure I have enough energy--I only got about 3 hours of sleep last night.
Or I could sleep--but honestly I'm not that sleepy.
/end of whine
