(Hey my brother speculated that the reason TPTB haven't announced renewal of Supernatural is because they wanted to add the the fan's angst around Sammy "dying."  If we all thought the show may not come back, we may think Sammy is really gone.  And, no I don't know anything about what's going to happen--just my own speculation.)
