I've been drawing J & J...
Oct. 4th, 2008 07:33 pmHad fun yesterday doing this. First time I've really drawn anything in about 12 years. Then I go an almost ruin it today by using colored markers on the backside of the page in my sketch book. So I took a quick photo (my scanner is down) of it to make sure I didn't mess it up even more before I had captured it somewhere.
I started on a whim with a photo of Jensen that I had previously rotated to be horizontal with only a half view of his face. I drew that on the side of one page. Then I flipped the page over and put Jared on the other side. I didn't plan this out--but it kinda turned into a ying and yang kinda thin. This is a smallish sketch book and you can see the fold of the book in the middle between the guys. Remember this is just a photo taken with my camera--when I get my scanner fixed I'll try to scan a better image--more in focus.
I was real happy with this yesterday--not so much today though.

And flipped.

Then in a fit of ...something IDK...I marked up the page behind Jensen with a big cartoon yellow bright goldfish -- which bled right through the page. *facepalm* I photoshoped this photo to remove the impression you can see of said fish. Plus Jensen's page got accident creased and so there's this fold line through his face.
Ugh.
I'm trying to draw the Impala now. Man--I've never been good at drawing inanimate objects. Perspective just ain't my thing. I've never taken a real drawing class so I've never learned it. And so now I'm frustrated.
