Edit: Very simplistic cost / value comparison: Take the Gold Ticket cost and divide by the total number of guests.
LA 2008: $54.88
Chicon 2008: $40.89
LA 2009: $36.58
Vancon 2009: $37.57
Vancon 2010: no record
Burcon 2012: $39.93
Vancon 2012: $44.31
Vegas 2013: $31.12
Vancon 2013: $36.82
It should also be noted that assuming you stay at the convention hotel, the Vancouver Sheraton (while gorgeous and I love it) is the most expensive of all the con hotels I've stayed at. Almost x2.
