I was so impressed with some of the shots in 4x13 yesterday. I couldn't help but be reminded of Kim Manners.
So I looked up this director, Adam Kane, who I think has never directed an SPN ep before. Turns out he's a cinematographer. Makes total sense, given some of those shots.
Looks like some of his first directing gigs were on Heroes.
I've posted some screen caps of some of the amazing shots from last night's ep. I hope Adam Kane directs more episodes.
ETA: I was re-looking at these and remembered all those great angle shots in Heroes--the ones that reminded me so much of a well-designed graphic novel.
Teaser...

1) I supposed since they've used this building so many times, they needed a new perspective. But this shot was amazing to me.

2) as was this amazing angle below.

3) And the LOOK in Sam's eyes.....

4) A great "traditional" salt and burn shot--but somehow with an angle/view that's a little different. And I love the colors.

5) And I know everyone loves that amazing 360 degree turn that goes between teen!Sam and grown-up!Sam with him running his hands through his hair.

6) And I love the angle on the Impala.

7) A great shot/angle of the brothers (and a different view on the bridge from the Pilot.)

8) Sam the Man and Dirk the Jerk.

9) And a great shot of Sam regretting his actions with Dirk. With Dirk's photo in the background.

10) I just love this angle.

11) Another regret for Sam... Harry. What a soulful image.

12) Another great perspective.
