In other news....

I'm still alive.  Just not on LJ that much.  Working a lot.  But I'm enjoying it.  Maybe more later this weekend.  Right now I'm very, very tired.

Houses of the Holy 2x13

I've been slowly rewatching S2.  I just finished Houses of the Holy.  This is one that I haven't watched to death.  I liked it originally, but it wasn't one of those OMG! WOW! episodes for me at the time.

Didn't Kripke once say in an interview that SPN would not be dealing with angels at all?  I can't remember if he said that before or after this episode--but I thought it was before the episode.  At the time I watched this I thought this was Kripke's way of putting the whole angel possibilities to bed.

But my brain just wants to fill in speculation.

Hunted (2x10) and Playthings (2x11)

I watched Hunted and Playthings last weekend.  I didn't really have much to say about them.  I've seen Hunted a few times because I love the character of Gordon.  Playthings I haven't seen that often.

The one thing I did re-notice was the color themes for these two episodes.  Weird that they were back-to-back episodes.

Hunted as the "blue" episode.  The car Sam stole was blue, the hotel he stayed in was the Blue Rose, Ava's cute VW bug was blue.  I think even Gordon, Dean, and/or Sam wore a lot of blue.  It was very striking.

Playthings was the "red" episode.  It was also, of course, the salute The Shining with the key in the door, the room number, the bartender, the bar, and the ghost of the little girl saying they can play "forever, and ever, and ever."  But it also had red--the little lampshades in the bar, the bartender/bar hop's red truck.  The red teeter totter and so on.  Also very striking.

Born Under a Bad Sign (2x14)...weird connection with S04?

I'm putting most of this under a cut because it deals with S04.  If you're familiar with a) the first five minutes of 4x01 from Comic Con and/or b) seen the recent episode stills from S04 (were they from 4x01?) then you're safe to go under the cut.  If you're staying away from all that....move on, these aren't the droids you are looking for. 

There are screencaps from BuABS and one from the S04 stills under the cut.  I clipped out something to show you from the S04 still--I don't think the screen clip itself is spoilery.  But my speculation about it may be (again if you know about or saw the First-5 minute clip--you don't have to worry about looking under the cut.)
