A BSG meme
A meme from the battlestar_blog
Callsign: GrowYourWings
Age: 46 (am I too old for BSG (don't think so)? or just over-age for LJ? I remember/was a fan of the original BSG, but it never grabbed me like this one has.)
Favorite character: Starbuck, Gauis, Roslin
Who would you bunk with? Lee, Helo, Gauis
Who would you throw out of an airlock?: Right now, no one. Before Exodus, it would be been Ellen, but the Tigh/Ellen scene in Exodus 2 changed my mind about that.
Favorite ship(s): Starbuck/Apollo
Why did you choose them? Tension/angst. Starbuck/Apollo would never last together long but the passion would be great!
Favorite BSG quote: So many to choose from!
Apollo: [to Starbuck] You're beyond insane!
Baltar: I had nothing to do with this. You know I had nothing to do with this.
Number Six: You have an amazing capacity for self-deception. How do you do that?
Adama: Sooner or later, the day comes when you can't hide from the things that you've done anymore.
Helo: Aren't you Gaius Baltar?
Baltar: I haven't done anything wrong.
[I like the character of Gaius a lot.]
Another fav: Gauis in Collaborators: "You need me! I *need* you! *muttering to himself* "Maybe I should have started with that."
Favorite BSG Music piece: Ya know.. I've been so hooked on characters and story arcs that I haven't paid a lot of attention to the music! Need to change that. I'm so hooked right now on the music from Supernatural that I hadn't even thought to explore the music on BSG. *runs off to look up BSG tunes*
Why are you so hooked on BSG? SciFi fan from *waayy* back (did you see my age?) Started with Original Star Trek. Wasn't sure about a remake of BSG, until someone at worked recommended it and then said it had a female Starbuck. Not enough strong female characters in TV (Roslin's another favorite.) But the whole BSG package is amazing. Story lines, character depth, blurring between what's right and what's wrong. Who's a good guy, who's a bad guy. Parallel's to events current & past. Exploration of good/bad behind theology. I love the space battles! (And battles have never been my fav in SciFi--these I live for.)
Any contributions to the fandom? Unfortunately, no
Other interests/fandoms: Lost, Supernatural, Heroes, Star Trek, Firefly, a little Buffy
