One of the photos I took yesterday at Portland Saturday Market of a child playing in a fountain.

If you haven't seen this yet, this video has gone viral on YouTube (and FB) with over 3.6m views on YT.   I started seeing it linked a few days ago, but was resisting watching it due to my obstinate nature against viral videos (which honestly is nothing honorable or anything, just this weird reaction I get.)

Turns out this was done by a local Portland actor, which is likely why I saw it explode all over my FB feed a few days ago since I'm in the Portland area and have friend's in the acting community.   If you like Portlandia - this is along the lines of keep Portland weird (aka quirky).

This is very creative.   I love my town and the people in it.   I laughed and also got verklempt at the same time.

"On Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012, I told my girlfriend to meet me at my parent's house for dinner. When she arrived I had stationed my brother to sit her in the back of an open Honda CRV and give her some headphones. He "wanted to play her a song"...

What she got instead was the world's first Live Lip-Dub Proposal."

Update:   They are going to be on the Today show on Tuesday.

Following the explosive popularity of his marriage proposal video, Portland actor Isaac Lamb and his fiance, Amy Frankel, will appear on NBC's "Today Show" on Tuesday, Lamb said.

His only comment? "Ack!"

But with 5 million hits in three days, exposure on national TV should be no problem for Lamb or Frankel. Both are performers used to being in front of an audience.

Ok here are the shots I took as I walked to and from the Chinese Garden.   The light ended up being fantastic.  I must have recognized it on some level at the time as I took many exposures of this street (but not volumes, thank god.)

I really love these shots.  Click any to enlarge.

I took my daughter to this new restaurant I discovered last week through a friend of mine. It's located in the Sellwood area of SE Portland.

When I was there the first time with my friend Barbara, I did take photographs, but never got around to posting them.

I posted previously about my visit to the NW 23rd Ave area of Portland. The Sellwood area reminds me a little of the NW23rd area. However, it's not quite as ... yuppified ... yet, that is. I can see that changing.

The restaurant we visited was The Jade Teahouse and Patisserie on SE 13th.
