As E said, Man in the Wilderness by Styx is so perfect for Dean.   I remember going \O/ when it started playing in 8x01 as it showed Dean returning from Purgatory.  So perfect.   I have always loved this song.  Styx' Grand Illusion was/is one of my all time favorite albums.  The whole album is gold.  When it first came out I wore the grooves deeper in the album from all the times I played that album.  It's one of the albums I upgrade to new medium with each evolution of music platforms.   In fact, I had to go pull up the album on my iPhone and the album is playing now.  Brings back such memories of my college days.   :)

In curiosity I looked up the album on Wikipedia, and found this description of the album by Dennis DeYoung of Styx:

the album's theme was the struggle to overcome self-deluding superficiality in order to affirm one's genuine value. This theme was reflected in the lyrics of the album's title track:
