growyourwings: (CHEER Take your shoes off)
I woke up this morning with this song playing in my head.  I had never seen the official music video for it.  Love the music and the video is great as well.  (Below is a screen shot linked to Youtube video because embedding on Youtube is turned off for this video.)

My daughter Emily just showed me this video.   I literally got thrills while watching it.

If you haven't seen this yet, this video has gone viral on YouTube (and FB) with over 3.6m views on YT.   I started seeing it linked a few days ago, but was resisting watching it due to my obstinate nature against viral videos (which honestly is nothing honorable or anything, just this weird reaction I get.)

Turns out this was done by a local Portland actor, which is likely why I saw it explode all over my FB feed a few days ago since I'm in the Portland area and have friend's in the acting community.   If you like Portlandia - this is along the lines of keep Portland weird (aka quirky).

This is very creative.   I love my town and the people in it.   I laughed and also got verklempt at the same time.

"On Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012, I told my girlfriend to meet me at my parent's house for dinner. When she arrived I had stationed my brother to sit her in the back of an open Honda CRV and give her some headphones. He "wanted to play her a song"...

What she got instead was the world's first Live Lip-Dub Proposal."

Update:   They are going to be on the Today show on Tuesday.

Following the explosive popularity of his marriage proposal video, Portland actor Isaac Lamb and his fiance, Amy Frankel, will appear on NBC's "Today Show" on Tuesday, Lamb said.

His only comment? "Ack!"

But with 5 million hits in three days, exposure on national TV should be no problem for Lamb or Frankel. Both are performers used to being in front of an audience.

I loved this.  Whether you agree with his politics or not, I think everyone can see the love the Obamas have for each other.

It's by sdwolfpup.  You can find her post here.

Found via rivers-bend.

I cannot believe this.  How unusual.  How beautiful.  (And no, it's not SPN, but you should watch it anyway...)
