Day 1 :: Your Favorite Song
Huh--not many people seem to be limiting themselves to 1 song... so I'll join that list. I've lots of "favorite" songs, but I just took a gander at the playcounts on my iTunes and I picked out these:
Guitar Etude #3 by Dan Fogelberg. I've been listening to this song since 1988. This YouTube link does not do it justice, but I didn't have an unprotected version to share. ETA: Here's a link to a slightly better sounding version of this.
Moonlight Serenade by Glenn Miller. This song always causes me to pause and sigh in contentment.
And a more recent new favorite - Allegro by Bear McCreary from the Battlestar Galactica S2 soundtrack. I LOVE this piece.
Huh, all three of those are instrumental pieces.
Someone came up with the idea for a meme based on 5x08. The "Kripke Started It. Changing Channels Free for All Meme."
Omg. I've just been over there and only got through the first page of several pages of comments and entries. I love the idea of fans running away with Sam & Dean and placing them in their favorite TV shows. Project Runway was one I just finished reading. And then of course their's trolley's entry of Sam & Dean in The Big Bang Theory. And there's Sam & Dean meeting Sponge Bob Squarepants!
I love the creativity and glee (and yes there's a Glee entry to btw) of fandom.
I did a few more than 15. I could not whittle the list down. Plus this was very interesting as I thought to go check my buying history on Amazon. It goes back to 1999! It was really interesting to see the phases of interests I went through. Some very interesting, some very embarrassing!
My list of books - In no order of importance - just as I thought of them.
( under the cut (images and text) )
ETA: Guys? Based on this list of books there's NO reason in the world why I would be in love with SHOW, right? *sarcasm* I'm still surprising myself by all this recall of my early interests in life. How the heck did I lose track of all that?
Found via raloria . This is so weirdly ACCURATE for such a short quiz!
|You Are a Lynx|
You've always been extra sensitive and aware. And it's made it difficult for you to fit in.
You see past people's outward personas. You are able to penetrate a stranger's soul.
What you've learned about people is both beautiful and ugly. And you keep these secrets to yourself.
But then I remembered one thing that I can always count on to cheer me up...
I love Fanvids. For me it's the perfect combination of Graphics, Music, and my favorite shows. I'm constantly blown away by the talent of fans who put these together.
I've included some links to some of my favorite fanvids below.
Here you can find some of my favorite SPN fanvids that I've rec'd in the past. I have over 300 of these on my harddrive. Some of which you can't find online any more. I was feeling a little crazy this afternoon and immediately cheered myself up by watching several of these. Plus here you can find an SPN 101 entry I wrote up that used fanvids as introductions to the various aspects of the show.
And here are some BSG vids as well.
I'm cheating a bit as this post was due yesterday. But I was offine for most of the evening due to a RL event and before I left I hadn't yet thought of what to post.
But since fickleone called me last night with the news of the SPN Con in Vanc BC next August I figured this counts since I learned about it yesterday!
So my Day 2 post is about SPN Cons! They make me so happy. And by extension--FANDOM. I've posted many times before about how much Fandom has come to mean to me--so I won't repeat it again--except to say how happy I am to have found my way into this...
And....YAY---another SPN Con! In Vanc!!!!!
We need a tour of SPN filming locations...
Day 1--what made me happy today: Photoshop!!!! (In case you didn't already notice my 22,342 other posts today.) While the darn thing is not intuitively easy to learn--once you get the hang of it--the THINGS you can DO! And I found pre-recorded actions today!!!! I can lose hours and hours and hours and hours using this program.
For example...remember my "Jensen comes to visit" manip?
( under the cut... )
Hmmm... I tag anyone else who hasn't done this yet...
This, however, just cracked me up. Nancy Drew, Buzz Lightyear, Woody and um.... well you can see below.
Oh god, I really really need to do the dishes, make a lunch, or something! I'm clearly cracking up....

The Fruity Commie Pinko Liberal Test, and my Biology Test
Weird how appropriate the description is for me.
Your result for What Planet are You From? Test...
You are from Mercury!
You, my friend, are a Mercurian!
Mercury is the planet that is closest to the sun. It is the smallest planet in our solar system and it does not have rings. Because it is so close to the sun and it’s small size it’s not easy to get a view from the planet from Earth without a telescope. What’s funny is that as close as the planet is to the sun there is still ice on the planet. The craters on the planet never see the light of the sun.
Mercury is named after the Roman god known as the “Messenger.” Evidently he was busy flitting around with wings on his heels going around and talking to everyone. It was said that he could bring abundance and success, so evidently he was a guy worth listening to.
What does this mean about you?
Well, Mercurians are a very independent type. They are set in their ways and very cool. There isn’t much that can change your mind. Some people may think you are a bit egotistical, but you were born charming and are an effective communicator. You know how to react to things calmly and express yourself well. More than likely you have a very good sense for business.
You like sex and you have a very strong stamina. Because you are so cool, though, your partner may think you don’t care about them, but you do. You just don’t like getting all gushy. You can enjoy many loves in your life. You are probably also one that isn’t suited for just staying home and taking care of the hearth. You just aren’t set up for the usual marriage thing. It doesn’t give you enough freedom.
So, be free Mercurian! Not that you’ll do what I say anyway!
I had trouble with this meme. What makes a man sexy to me is not just his looks. Yes, sometimes I’m shallow enough that looks is enough. But if I know something about the individual...for example, that he’s a bit of a idiot or an egotist or something, then despite his looks, he will not be sexy to me. Also a man who may not be truly sexy in a purely visual way, may be very sexy to me because of his personality or some other aspect.
I tend to like darker men. Not so much the blonds, which is why you wouldn’t see Brad Pitt here. Yes Brad Pitt is drop dead gorgeous in a purely physical sense. And he may also be a great human being (don’t really know)--but for some reason, although I can “admire” his body (grin), he just doesn’t do it for me.
However sometimes I break that rule. Such as with Robert Redford. Definitely blond. But Redford has something on top of being physically gorgeous when he was younger.
I’ll admit that sometimes the reason why I find an actor sexy is not so much because of the actor himself--it may sometimes really be the character(s) he plays. I may find the actor himself to be just okay.
And as for the ranking of these men. Other than the top 4-5, I could probably reorder these multiple ways and still be satisfied with the results.
Heavy duty picspam is under the cut.
Your dominant hues are green and blue. You're smart and you know it, and want to use your power to help people and relate to others. Even though you tend to battle with yourself, you solve other people's conflicts well.
Your saturation level is very low - you have better things to do than jump headfirst into every little project. You make sure your actions are going to really accomplish something before you start because you hate wasting energy making everyone else think you're working.
Your outlook on life is very bright. You are sunny and optimistic about life and others find it very encouraging, but remember to tone it down if you sense irritation.
Boy this part is sure true..
Even though you tend to battle with yourself, you solve other people's conflicts well.Kinda of what my work dumpage earlier was about a little.
And I've irritated people my whole life around this...
Your outlook on life is very bright. You are sunny and optimistic about life and others find it very encouraging, but remember to tone it down if you sense irritation. To the point where I've had to squash down my over-enthusiasm for things so much that I do it all the time now and seem like I'm never having any fun. Except of course, when I go online with SPN-myself to death.
------ slight change of subject ----
Speaking of never having fun. I went out last night with Bob, Tim, and a couple of Bob's friends. Just to the Red Robin. But it was at 10pm (which is very unusual for me on a work night (or any night for that matter.) AND, I got drunk. A very quite drunk, for sure since I didn't really know Bob's friends that well--so I held it in.
Man, I really need to go find some new icons now that I have a paid account.
And I really need to go make myself something to eat. Haven't really eaten much since 10 am.
- Go to musicoutfitters.com
- Enter the year you graduated from high school in the search function and get the list of 100 most popular songs of that year.
- Bold the songs you like, strike through the ones you hate and underline your favorites. Do nothing to the ones you don't remember/care about.
(Note from me: Feels like I should be bolding those I loved, not underlining them...but oh well.)
That was kinda fun.
